IT+Summer Edition

The rumour has it that during our last IT Cluster workshop, PLS parti, an idea of a summer academy came into our members’ mind. Within a week, IT+ Summer Edition was born, which happened to be a series of events mainly (but not exclusively) for IT students to explore the wide-spread fields of information and communications technology.

The twist was to talk about topics that cannot be heard at school the way we know it… practicably, plainly and easily.

In a pub…

From the beginning of June to the late August every Thursday we organised a session in LAZA, a cool open-air pub right in the heart of Miskolc. Although, summer weather was extremely moody and music festivals lured the youth out of Miskolc, numerous IT students participated on our lectures-to-be.

The Presenters…

We looked around among our cluster members and, surely, we found highly qualified professionals, who could share their experiences and could give some practical advice, furthermore, with their motivating lectures they tried to broaden the students’ horizons.

The aim of IT+ Summer Edition was…

North Hungarian IT Cluster has two remarkable knowledge centres – University of Miskolc and Eszterházy Károly College - among their members and it is undeniable that both of them provide a solid theoretical knowledge to their IT students. However, we wanted to show how to put things into practice. Furthermore, each week we invited all of our cluster members, as well, and by providing a casual atmosphere we do believe that students could get hold of a basic social capital that can come in handy, after all.
